Welcome to Friends Of Dandenong Valley Parklands Inc.

If you like fresh air, exercise, getting your hands dirty and helping the environment, then Friends of Dandenong Valley Parklands may be what you are looking for.

We are a volunteer group working with Parks Victoria to help conserve and restore the natural environment and beautiful parklands along Dandenong Creek, for the benefit of local fauna and flora, as well as current and future park users.

What do we do?

We are a group of local volunteers working with Parks Victoria to:

  • Collect seeds and cutting from indigenous, locally native, plants,

  • Grow seedlings in our nursery and plant them in the park and bushland areas,

  • Battle weeds, sometimes with the help of goats!

  • Monitor water quality of Dandenong Creek and Jells Lake

Our Friends Of working bees and events are shared on Parks Connect. Check our activities on their website for up-to-date days and times.

We also host a range of special events throughout the year, like National Tree Day and Melbourne Waterwatch activities.
